British Infantry Regiments

Listed below are all the British infantry regiments that served during the First World War. I have listed them alphabetically by their common name.

To the side of each regiment is the regimental badge, this badge was normally worn on the hat, a similar design would also be on the tunic buttons. These badges are included here to help you identify regiments from photogrpahs. (Please note some of the colour badges are showing their attaching clip, this would not be seen when the badge is attached to the uniform.)

Some of the Regiments had different badges for Territorial Force and Service battalions, these have been shown on the Regiments own page.

If you wish to buy a copy of any of the badges please visit Roger Capwell's site by clicking on the link Military Badges. The copies of the badges were kindly provided by Roger.
